A structured readiness program for students approaching major academic transitions, founded by Koy Roberts, Ph.D. Child, Teen & Young Adult Psychologist, 25 years in Dallas–Fort Worth.

Every year, capable students walk into demanding new environments — a harder middle school, a high school where the stakes change, a college that asks them to be a person they haven't been yet — and discover that admission and readiness aren't the same thing. Some struggle quietly. Some struggle loudly. Almost all of them could have used a structured way to prepare.
The Student Readiness Pathway is that structure.

Three Programs. One Philosophy. Each pathway meets students at a defining transition with a focused, structured plan to arrive ready.
For College-Bound Students.
A structured readiness program for the launch to college — building the executive function, emotional resilience, and self-direction that admission alone doesn't provide.
Currently Enrolling for Summer 2026.
For Students Entering High school.
A structured five-meeting program for the high school transition, where academic stakes intensify and the choices students make begin to compound toward college.
For Students Entering Middle School.
A structured five-meeting program for the move into middle school — academic complexity, social reorganization, and the first real call for self-management.
Every Pathway program follows the same structure:
A standardized psychological assessment (the BASC-3) completed independently by both student and parents. A working, objective-setting meeting with student and parents to review results and set the focus. Three structured working sessions with the student. A closing family integration meeting with written recommendations the family takes home. Five meetings, one assessment, one defined outcome. Families know exactly what they're signing up for and exactly what they'll leave with.

For more than two decades, Dr. Roberts has worked with children, adolescents, and emerging adults across the DFW metroplex — through anxiety, ADHD, learning differences, identity formation, and every kind of growing up. The Student Readiness Pathway grew out of a pattern he kept seeing in his clinical work: families arriving in crisis at moments that could have been anticipated.
The Pathway is the answer to that gap — a focused, evidence-informed program that draws on 25 years of clinical experience and applies it to the specific developmental moments that ask the most of students and the families who love them.
Dr. Roberts also maintains his clinical practice serving children, teens and young adults. Visit drkoyroberts.com.
